Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Officer to join our team. As an Accounting Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the proper maintenance of financial records, conducting analysis, and assisting with the preparation of financial statements and tax returns. Your responsibilities will also include creating invoices, monitoring accounts receivables, generating payment checks to suppliers, and other related tasks. Please note that from time to time, additional tasks outside your primary role may be assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the accurate and timely maintenance of financial records, guaranteeing that all entries are fair, valid, and supported by relevant details.
- Generate invoices and monitor accounts receivables, ensuring timely and accurate collections.
- Prepare checks for payment to suppliers, adhering to payment schedules and accurately maintaining supplier records.
- Conduct regular account analysis and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in cash/bank accounts, affiliates, and relevant financial records.
- Collaborate with the Accounting Supervisor to prepare monthly financial statements and assist in tax return preparation.
- Maintain subsidiary records for depreciable capital assets, including cost, depreciation, periodic depreciation, accumulated depreciation, and net book value.
- Prepare monthly schedules and reports for both internal and statutory financial reporting requirements.
- Generate necessary forms, such as debit/credit memos, purchase requisition forms, and other financial documents as required.
- Monitor compliance with accounting principles, company procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing support for financial planning efforts.
- Utilize relevant accounting software and technology to perform tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth financial processes and effective communication.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Solid knowledge of accounts receivables, basic accounting principles, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
- Familiarity with relevant accounting software and technology.
- Previous experience in accounting or related roles preferred but not mandatory.
